All of you know by now that I have a fondness and a deep appreciation for Amish Country in Ohio. That’s a fact!
The atmosphere is just so relaxing to me, but there is an excitement building this week as the official Christmas shopping and decorating season begins.
There will surely be an air of holiday happiness at a wonderful store you will not want to miss.
Welcome to.............HOMESPUN TREASURES
The name of this place says it all, but opening that door, allowing the aroma of rich candle scents to envelope you as you begin your journey through each nook of artfully displayed items, will give a deeper meaning to the word “treasure”.
This building that, years ago, used to house batting cages, is now a hit as a wealth of accessories and items that will create a home run for your space.
Since, the family owned, Homespun Treasures opened its doors in 1993, it has become a destination in Ohio’s Amish Country along quaint St. Rt. 39.
One of the many things I love about this store is how full it is, top to bottom full of goodies.
Jen was there decorating and consulting with a customer on some arrangements and is responsible for the displays that always get a wow from me every time I visit. She, along with everyone, is ready to give guidance and suggest ideas for your home. From putting together a vignette to creating the perfect floral arrangement for you, they love to serve you.
I noticed, as I was walking through, that the line of florals they sell are the best! They look soooo real and you’ll love them.
You can really tell that, at the heart of Homespun Treasures, is their desire to provide a vast variety of options and ideas for your everyday and holiday décor.
I made that comment to Tim Schlabach, one of the owners, and he said they really try to stock the newest items and keep that variety going and the way he said it, I could sense it is a priority.
Oh my! The Christmas and winter goodies were coming out when I was there a few weeks ago and I can only imagine that each cupboard, table, and chandelier is now fully adorned for the season.
As I was making my way past this cabinet, something caught my eye that I’d never seen before. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Branches with seed lights built in to them!
My mind began to swim with the uses for these beauties and you can even order these online through Homespun Treasures’ website.
From the front porch, to the back door with everything you can think of for the home and garden.
From the floor to the ceiling with rugs and window coverings
From tabletop to old hutch with beautiful dishes and unique accents
Bliss!
There is so much to see and experience, especially this time of year.
I’m planning a visit this week when I’ll be in the area for family gatherings and I can’t wait to see what ornaments I can pick up for decorating the tree.
Tim and his Mom, Lois, invite you to visit Homespun Treasures and they’ve graciously donated a $50 gift certificate for us to giveaway here on Amish Country Living.
